Burton breaks Tebows’ record with 6 touchdowns

Freshman quarterback Trey Burton found the end zone six times during the 48-14 victory on Saturday night against Kentucky, breaking 2007 Heisman Trophy Winner Tim Tebow’s school record.

Burton became the fourth player in SEC history to score six times in a game and is the first since Auburn’s Cadillac Williams back in 2003.

“Trey Burton was just fantastic,” coach Urban Meyer said. “There’s a lot of great players that have played in this stadium. I think he broke some record. That’s tremendous.”

His big performance helped the Gators rise from their offensive slump and awarded Meyer with a new milestone.

Burton’s post game stats-

Passing- 1/1 42 yards

Rushing- 5 carries 40 yards, 5 TD

Receiving- 5 receptions 37 yards, 1 TD
